"ask"

I don't do requests anymore, and I am by no means an expert. I'm just teaching myself out of pure interest and thought I would document it so others could learn too.

I did not create any of the art featured here. All, if not most, are credited to the artists if you are interested in prints or looking at more of their work. hide
I recommend Faber Castell Pitt Pens for paintings. They don't bleed when using watercolor over them. Also, blue transfer paper makes your final product look a lot neater. And speedball makes the best black ink and it fades really well.

thanks c:

For the person who just asked about New York tattooists: Sarah Schor, Thomas Hooper, Frank Carter, all of Smith Street.

oh thank you so much!

Could you please recommend me some good artists in NYC?

i’m useless when it comes to stuff like this

i can never, never remember where artists are from

sorry!

your flash is insane! i was just wondering what pens you use? im currently using rotring graphic pens in the 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 variety etc. But they seem to bleed when i attempt to go over with anything later, i just really need a good pen set.

oh i don’t create any of the things posted here, so i wouldn’t be the best person to ask. if you go here, there’s a list of artists you could ask

hi! is it possible to promote an artist?
we just launched an etsy shop with all of his flash sets!
let me know
thank you!

yeah, definitely!

Know of any really great looking traditional Gorilla flash??? Thanks!
What theme are you using?

this one, i believe!

(the code is right down at the bottom of the post)

the tea & sympathy flash piece. It's not great, but the elements are there. for the basic lines they need to be smoother, particuarly on the banner, the girls face needs to be redone but that's practice on drawing faces, it's difficult. Use some more references study how the lines form try using watercolour or ink for the shading, for the outlining I prefer a black 08 micron drafting pen. it gives smooth lines an an even ink flow. I'm nowhere close to the best, but this some basic stuff I've figured out on my own.
The flash itself wasn't top quality, but I myself can't draw to save my life. So I think actually it was rather good. That anon was rude.

very

that’s why i post all submissions, even if i know they aren’t the greatest. it takes some guts putting your work out there, knowing that there are people who will rip a strip out of you if it isn’t perfect. plus, maybe they’ll get constructive criticism and improve

this new trend of new jack tattoo artists freaking out over having their work posted elsewhere is just bullshit. no artist says to a client, after they've paid to have work done, "ok, now, you're not allowed to take pictures of this and put them up anywhere unless I say so. if you do I'll cry liuke a baby.". If they don't want exposure then they need to stop doing art.

ahahaha, that’s a fair point

As long as you credit them I wouldn't worry.

yeah, true

alright

that’s all settled then c:

Are you kidding me? If their shit is on the internet, they should be glad for the exposure. I hope you continue to post, I actually like your page.

yeah, i was thinking the same. and it’s not like i’m making money off this or anything, i don’t have ads on my page and i don’t want to.

i probably will. my guilt will fade haha.

if they don’t want it on here, they can tell me. i’ll take it down, it’s not a big deal

thank you :)

Check my blog. Made you a quick cyclops one. It looks like I dated it "10" but I just dragged my pen up on "11" haha.

ahhhh, so awesome!

hahaha
